The Carolina Southern Division is proud to be the sponsor of the 2022 Convention of the Mid-Eastern Region of the National Model Railroad Association called the CAROLINA SPECIAL which will be held October 20-23, 2022 in Charlotte, North Carolina. This annual event provides a venue for NMRA Model Railroaders from Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and the District of Columbia, plus parts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and North and South Carolina to gather and share their craftmanship and skill, enjoy the fellowship of fellow ferroequinologists, visit local layouts and prototype rail operations, and to generally have a good time.

Registration is now open on the Registration page. Use the above links in the Convention Menu to see what we already have in store for you. Even though you may have already registered, we encourage you to check back each month to see what new may have been added for your enjoyment.

  CSD/MER MEMBER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! 

No convention can be successful without the help of a small army of volunteers to handle the many details of the event. The more volunteers we have, the easier the task is for each one. We urge you to take a look at the Leadership Listing at this link , and contact the leader for the area you are willing to help in. The sooner you volunteer, the better choice you will have for picking the area in which you can contribute most to the enjoyment of your fellow model railroaders during the event.

Oh, by the way, for those of you in the NMRA Achievement Program, since this is a Regional Event, you can accumulate big time Time Units (points) toward your Association Volunteer Award -- just saying...
