November 2013 Monthly Meeting
Our November Monthly Meeting included a modeling contest jointly sponsored by the Carolina Southern Division and Mooresville Hobby Town, our monthly meeting host. The contest was open to the public and judging was done by employees of Mooresville Hobby Town. The prizes, furnished by Mooresville Hobby Town, were:
- First Prize: Two (2) Crown Classic tickets on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad
- Second Prize: One (1) Great Smokey Mountain ticket
- Third Prize: $25 merchant credit at Mooresville Hobby Town
The contest was primarily for model dioramas and rolling stock, but all models were accepted. Even though NMRA Achievement Program judging was not used in the contest, both Fred Miller, MMR, and Jim Rager were on hand to judge models as desired by the owners and to give advice to others concerning their models with respect to NMRA AP standards.
